    adding live rock

The rock has been in a tank for 3 yrs, so it should be fully cured. I will be picking it up and packing in water, and it is only a 2.5 hr drive back to my house/tank.

    lighting

I have new mh lights that came in a pendant that hangs above the tank. I would like to add two VHO's but have a question about placement. The MH's are 12 inches above the water but I would like the VHO's to be around 3 inches above. If I place the VHO's so they are not directly under the MH's...

    Sump Help?

If your tank is not drilled then you would need a overflow box and a return pump in the sump powerful enough to handle the flow of the overflow, just make sure that you check the water level in the sump so if a power outage occurs you do not get a wet floor. You should be able to control how...

    jumping fish

Thanks for the reply, I used eggcrate before but had 2 gobies jump through and land on top and bake under the MH. I think I am going to try and make a fiberglass screen that surrounds the tank but does not go over the tank. Got some thinking to do. Thanks

    jumping fish

Just curious to know how many of you have open top aquariums and if you do have you any problems with fish jumping out. I just upgraded my lights (aquaspace) and now have a open top. I do not wish to put eggcrate over tank because it blocks too much light. Any ideas/opinions. Thanks

I also have a sink in my fish room that the DI/RO is hooked and the water is always on. My only problem...

    Urchins

I have 2 in my 180, one shortpine and one tuxedo, the tuxedo is out all the time and eats algae off the glass, the shortspine does stay hidden and has eaten some coralline but has not been a problem. both are good grazers and helped with a hair algae outbreak!!! I would recommend the tuxedo.
