I know i am planning on buying a ro unit in a couple weeks. I just dumped this months extra in getting the tank set up.

I guess I wondering my tap water has 0-2ppm nitrates my tank reads 100ppm nitrates. Is it just trying to cycle. using the cheato to speed up the process the tank is 47 gal and my sump is about 15 gal my heater is rated at 30-60 gal I almost have it on full i could turn it up a bit more.

I found a quarter in my tank not dog poo but a quarter. I have high nirtates with really nothing in the tank. Would the quarter cause my nitrates to spike. thanks

Well there is 30 lbs in there right now. If I were to add more would that be a huge mess or would I have to drain out the water in there now. Ill measure the depth. If I move the sand from where the LR is going to go it will disperse more..
