Sounds like you probably have an abalone sea snail - they are very beneficial - reef safe - and readily multiply in the home aquarium. I have some that are dull and drab and others that are a golden yellow. They do not bother any of my corals.

There was a proposal to add them to the protected list but it was rejected - no CITES certs are required to import Banghaii - the debate still goes on.

One of the things we all wish to see - the duplication of the natural order. I find it awesome when a large fish opens it's mouth and allows the cleaner to work inside - they get the gills too.

Remove the rock from tank if possible - pluck the buuble algae off the rock (this can sometimes be done without breaking them) rinse the rock with some salt water to clean off spores released if bubble popped and return to tank - no problem. I bought a reef from a guy who had tons of these...

The BEST way to lower nitrates is water changes and source elimination. The "quickest" way is to simply break the glass kidding obviously - although we've all probably felt that way at one point.

I would say that it does show up better under actinic although the color of the fish will also play a role in this. Keep a close eye on it - good luck
