    Fish going crazy! Dying!

you need to find the cause of the nitrate levels and phosphates - are you using RO/DI ? The phosphates are lethal to fish - some are more sensitive than others.

Overstocked or Not, need your thoughts and suggestions

Current stock list is: Volitan Lionfish Queen Angel Blond Naso Tang Yellow Tang Aust Harequin Tusk Maroon Clownfish Large Snowflake Moray CC Star You're right I was thinking of another - sorry Even so - with that list you may have a tough time justifying putting in any more fish - the smaller...

Overstocked or Not, need your thoughts and suggestions

IMO you should not add more to that - the harlequin alone will eventually outgrow that tank. if it were not on your list I'd be more inclined to say you could add a couple more as you mentioned.

    i need advice

tell your friend to get on these boards and study the "101 tips" threads above and then to ask questions to get any other details needed - this will save a lot of time and expense not to mention the disapointment of failures.

    is the normal for anemones

yes that is normal behavior for most anenomes

    brown stuff and sand debris

the brown stuff is probably diatom algae - normal - especially in newer tanks your clean up crew will help with that when you get them in there - in the mean time you should cut back your light schedule to just a couple of hours a day so as not to encourage more blooms.

    aaaahhhhhh addiction!

Lecithin - I have to say that what you need to do is just sit back (in front of your tank of course) and let yourself come to the realization that this "addiction" will not stay like this and that it is only a transitional period in your life that will undoubtedly progress. In other words: IT...

We finally got the humu humu today!

Not likely to scare - mine was hardly audible - but it was an eye opener (or is that "ear opener"?) only did it once in a while

We finally got the humu humu today!

Very nice humu - and excellent deal on the rock - congrats The "humu humu nuku nuku apua" in case you didn't know means "fish that sounds like a pig" you will probably hear it grunting in the near future although not ALL of them do it

    help with levels please.

Agree with both - except that I think your calcium levels are ideal and not on the high end - desired range is 400-460

    will animals in live rock

as long as the ammonia and nitrite levels do not get too high and nitrates are reduced the chances are far better

    bio balls

bioballs are not a problem unless they are improperly used or maintained whether you "need" them or not is open to debate and is a matter of opinion.

Is this what live rock should look like? (Pics)

there likely will not be enough dissolved oxygen in the system to allow the processing of that much ammonia - the nitrosococcus and nitrococcus bacteria will compete for the oxygen and thus not allow a sufficient population to grow. In that process the ph will also lower dramatically further...

    my cycle

Cycle is not over yet - doNOT put in a clean up crew yet. Ammonia must be at 0, Nitrites at 0 and Nitrates below 20. When the first two hit zero you can do a water change to get rid of some of the Nitrates. Then give it a couple of weeks to make sure it is becoming stable before you add any crew...

    New Fish List

What have you done to rid the tank of the ich? Don't add new fish right away until it has been taken care of. How long has it been since the last fish was in it? For your list: You can have multiple cardinals they are schooling fish and are non aggressive Hubby wants red? Flame is red / orange -...

I think I might have some problems? Any advice?

I have ordered with SWF many times and have had the occasional problems - they have always taken care of me - the only thing I don't like is that their credits do not apply to the $79 minimum forcing you to buy more - that to me is an unfair practice.

    basic aquascaping question

most I have seen just dry stack the rock with a taper to the rear wall and up against it - some people glue the rocks in place or together
