Actually Tia Crabs will fight off an oscar if you get a fair sized one or get a large plecatomus also 10 gal is way too small for 2 oscars it realy to small for one oscar they grow fast and will out grow that tank in a matter of months they are also messy eaters

I have a flame and an electric (almost the same but the electric has a visible current that runs the lip area) mine have rooted to the rocks in the open have been alive and healthy for almost a year now (Feb will be a year) and i feed them Kent Micro Vert with a syringe. :p

The bigger the better ( well the easier ) water parameters are more stable and you can keep more or larger fish, but there are down falls too. The bigger the tank the bigger the pumps stronger lighting needed ect ect all = more money so go with what you can afford, and as with anything TAKE IT...

Take your damsels back to the LFS and put in a piece of shrimp from the grocery store it will cycle just as well and you dont have to chase it around to pull it back out. Bill

Ok he has dug a hole in the DSB underneath a overhang and came out long enough to grab some brine and then bailed back in to his ENGINEERED hole is this all i can expect or will he show himself more when he feels more comfortable about his surroundings? Bill

He will stay where he feels comfortable but when he is ok with his eviroment he will come out dont worry, about the rock dont rearrange it if you force him to the front it will only stress him if its not comfortable with it. Bill

How did you acclimate and what else is in the tank could he be hiding from a predator fish?
