Just set up my new tank into the wall between my livingroom, and computer room.

I have 2- 65 watt Power compacts on my 150 gal. FOWLR. Right now the canopy with the lights in it just sits on top of the tank above the glass tops. Should I leave them there, or raise them off the glass tops, and if so, how high?

Anyone want to trade something for a 8 watt Laguna UV steriolizer. New bulb, works fine. I got it with a complete setup I bought, but am not going to use it.

Should I set up a DSB for my FOWLR? I have heard to only do this with Reef tanks?

It was not part of a DSB, just for looks.

Can you make your DSB to deep? I got some sand to put in my new fuge, but got more then enough for 4", should I put it all in there? It will probably make it about 7-8", is this good for the tank, or will it hurt it?

I have about 100 lbs. of sand that was in an established tank. It is just regular aragonite, and there was never LR in the tank it was in. Should I rinse this sand out before I add it to my newly set up tank. Nothing in the tank, only the saltwater mixing so far.

My tank only has holes in the overflows for 1 return line. The way it was made is one two overflows, but only one hole in each one. Don't know why they did it this way. I have 150 gal. with a Rio 3100, and 2500 on it right now. Could I just use the 3100, and would this be enough for a tank...

I was thinking about two sump pumps. Both in the sump, next to eachother, and then tied together right before they go into the return pipe in the tank.

I got a Laguna 8 watt 500 gph. UV sterolizer with a tank I recently purchased. Has anyone used these, and will it be ok for a 150 Gal. FOWLR?

Can you hook up two different return pumps to one return line to increase the volume? Will this work? Will the more powerful pump overpower the little pump, or will they work together? It would be tied together with a Tee.

any comments would be appreciated.

I also have an extra Rio 2500, could I ty this in with a Tee so both pumps are working together? Will this work? Of course if one pump fails the other will just pump back into th sump through the failed one.

Will a Rio 3100 pump be big enough to use as a ruturn pump for a 150 gal. tank FOWLR?
