i got the same problem but i know what you can do...use RO water when doing water changes, not keep the lights on as long and get a descent clean up crew of snails.

i saw this in the store and want to know if this is a cucumber that eats algae and if not is it beneficial to have in the tank?

i have a valentini and i love the fish. he's in with a vlamingi tang, mimic tang, 2 maroon clowns and a copperbanded butterfly and does fine. once in a while you might see a nip out of your fishes fins but it dependson the puffers personality. some do it and some don't. mine doesn't.

all naso species do this...i have a vlamingi tang that does this as well. when nothings bothering them and they're happy go lucky theyare bright in color. if they are mad or stressed they become darker in color.

k it sounds like you have 2 problems. one is that the royal gramma is probably being picked on by the blue devil which is why the tail is torn. on the other side the royal gramma will be a bit timid anyways but the blue devil isn't helping. the second problem is that it sounds like he might have...
