    The Suprise Thread!

I was watching my tank last night and noticed a small puff of white "smoke" coming out of a tiny cone in the sand. Looked like a tiny volcano! I grabbed my poker stick and tried to see what was in the sand but found nothing. One of the stangest things I've ever seen in this tank!

I'm surprised the mods are allowing that picture to still be here... If Bob had posted a picture of a plant or a gallon jug of tap water there would have been an uproar!

She loves it when it's naked....

I'd hate to have them chew it up!! I have seen them pecking at it though. That picture is a bit distorted, Cora, the clown in the toadstool is just a bit bigger than Nemo. And she has already let him know that she is in charge!! Thanks guys!!

She loves it when it's naked....

THAT'S AMAZING!!!! I guess since there is a "inches-to-tank-size" rule for fish maybe there should be one for corals as well!! Thanks FDA.....

12 inches across????? That's HUGE! If you get a chance post a picture of the thing in your tank, I'd love to see that!

She loves it when it's naked....

Ya know, I bought that toadstool with hopes that my clowns would host in it. Waterfallers pictures of her clowns in their toadstool are great and that's what I wanted. Both of these clowns love the thing like this, but won't have anything to do with it once its "open"! Maybe they will warm up...

    Some Great Advice!!

in one of the threads about the SeaCone 100, benj2112 suggested the following: "Of the above mentioned modifications sealing the collection cup to inner tube was the easiest, cheapest, and most effective. It helps by causing all the air to exit through the collection cup tube...Hopefully...

    The Secrets to great Coraline

I've had my 55 "reef in training" up since December. I use 240 watts of NO lights (2-10Ks. 2-50/50s, 2-03 Actinics) and now have spots of coraline spreading on my overflow and powerheads. All I add is Kent Essential Elements and drip Kalk on a very speradic (sp) basis. I reallyt didn't expect to...

    To Sump or not?

I added a 10 gallon sump to my 55 just to make the DT look a bit cleaner. I had 3 powerheads in there, the heater, the skimmer pump and filter and a HOB filter for when I use carbon. Now most all that stuff is in the sump. There are still two power heads but with the water circulation from the...

    Time to Frag The Beast!

Great!!! Thanks for the replies.... I think I will cut it into 3 frags, attach each with the plastic toothpicks and hope for the best. Will have to disgard the current base trunk, but this thing is so huge I think they will all be fine. I will take photos of the step-by-step process for future...

    Time to Frag The Beast!

And here is the trunk. My question is how do I slice this thing up? It has 3 large branches off the main trunk. I could get 3 pretty good sized frags off of it. How should I slice it? Straight across each branch so they are all flat on the bottom, or cut down thru the entire main trunk? Thanks
