    Help with green star polyps

I've seen my emerald right smack in the middle of the GSP before and knocked him off with a stick! I don't think he was eating them, but wasn't going to take any chances. I think he may have been cleaning out the crap that was in between the polyps. The hermits have been on there also, but I...

    Help with green star polyps

Funny you should ask this. My GSP just opened up today after a 3-day "nap" ! The wife thought I had killed them! I think they will be fine. Mine look brighter than ever!

    Attn: Kip

I've followed the battles quite often and since I don't feel I have am knowledgable enough to participate just yet, I just read along. But it seems to me that if one of the major players in the battle against these methods "quits" and more or less "takes his ball and goes home", doesn't that...

Need ideas for catching a fish

Yep, they can get out!! That's why I waited at the tank for them to go in and then quickly grabbed the bottle! They wouldn't even approach the bottle with the smaller hole.

Need ideas for catching a fish

I caught 4 damsels with this: It had flake food in it but soon dropped to the bottom. I think they finally went in out of curiosity. I cut off the spout so the entrance would be bigger and once a fish went in I hurried and grabbed the bottle pulling them out.

    New additions

Carole, I caught 4 damsels with this bottle. I put flake in it and waited till they went in. Had to cut the mouth of the bottle out more so they would go in. The original mouth was too small.

    Overflow Siphon Question

Both ends of the siphon tube are the same length. I did clean it and started the siphon. The waterline is alot lower now than it was. The tube was pretty filthy, maybe it didn't like that so much!! The assembly is made by Amiracle in case there is a history of problems out there with this...

    Overflow Siphon Question

The waterline in my overflow box, (the slotted box in the tank), is about 2 inches or so below the slots right after I pull the siphon with the air tube. Over about a weeks time that level creeps up closer to the slots and will eventually be the same level as the tank water. The siphon continues...

    snorkelling? and where?

....Of course, Grand Cayman! Take a trip with Captain Marvin to the Coral Gardens and then hit Stingray City. Then a quick trip to the barrier reef to see the resident nurse shark. Great corals and fish everywhere. And if you want a good shore snorkle go to Eden Rock right in Georgetown. You can...

    Terry/Beth/JwTrojan44 - Hypo Question

Thanks Beth, I'll drop the level to the just above the intake, should be 3 or 4 gallons, replenish a little at a time, and just continue diluting that way until I hit the 1.009 SG.

I also learned my lesson the hard way, dead fish! I have since set up the QT tank and have had some damsels in there for a week and a half. Thought everything was looking good and now discover they may have ick. I am so glad that I QTd them first! I am of the opinion that every fish I get from...

    Terry/Beth/JwTrojan44 - Hypo Question

Good Morning, I have some damsels in a 20 gallon QT, (been in for 1.5 weeks) and they are now showing signs of ick. I am going to start hypo. I have 15 gallons of salt free RO water that has been sitting for 48 hours. I know to lower the salinity over 48 hours, but would like your opinions on...

    Sorry Guys

Freshwater tanks are not a bad thing! I have a 45 gallon FW with 3 bala sharks and 2 electric yellow lab cichlids. Then again, I also have a 20 gallon SW QT and a 55 gallon SW FOWLR so I get the best of both worlds. The electric yellows are very cool and not that expensive. They grow to be about...
