Hippo has white spots? Nothing else does

They are a good cleaner fish, the hobbyist has to remember that their small size makes them susceptible to ending up in the overflow box. I would also recommend anyone buying one to purchase one raised in captivity Quote: Originally Posted by Spongeycrab also neon gobies might help not...

    Help with new set up

I would move the power head to the other side of the tank. With it opposite the return you can set the power head to give you some turbulence as it works against the return

Hippo has white spots? Nothing else does

IMO while cleaner shrimp are a nice addition to your CUC they are hit and miss when it comes to eating the ick parasite off of an infected fish. More often than not the shrimp are too well feed due to other food introduced into the tank. The only way to eradicate the ick parasite is to brake...

Hippo has white spots? Nothing else does

Quote: The fish more than likely has the marine form of Ich (cryptocaryon irritans) and which comes from a compromised immune system as mentioned above. Just to set the record straight IMO while a compromised immune system can make a fish more susceptible to ick. it is more likely to happen the...

PEZenfuego's 4 gallon Pico Tank Diary

Quote: The lesson I learned: I placed the pump in the intake of the tank and let it sit overnight with the intention of setting it up in the morning. That was a mistake! The water level of the intake (and by extension the DT) rose because of the addition. Seeing as the intake water level rose...

    First Time Tank Help

    If you are going to use the tank as a sump you are better served with a larger foot print ( larger compartment area ) as opposed to a taller tank a 20 gallon tall, commonly 24" x 12" x 16 a 20 gallon extra tall, commonly 20" x 10" x 24" a 20 gallon Long, commonly 30" x 12" x 13

    Newb with a 65G tank

Quote: I think I'll be adding some peppermint shrimp as soon as the tank is finished cycling. I think the only issue I might have with this solution is some of the aiptasia are rather large, so I might be stuck using the chemicals. The ones you can see, kill with aiptasia X. just remember to...

You can get the acrylic at Lowes or home depot. Take an inside measurement of you tank front to back. Have the acrylic cut one inch smaller than the front to back measurement and six inches more than the height of your tank. If cost of the acrylic is a factor you can also use “egg create” . You...
