    5mg/L nitrates ok??

mg=ml=cc as far as I know. But parts per million or ppm is another way of saying mg/l, which is interesting to me. It's good to know all the different measurements and what they mean and how to convert them. When I was in college for Biology, I had to take a lot of Chemistry courses that...

    Not having luck with pumps

No, they don't. I used to have these brackets for maxijet powerheads that hung over the tank rim, so that even if the suction cups lost suction, it would still hang on the tank rim and be fine. I didn't get them in the box this time with these maxijets. I guess it's because they had a previous...

    5mg/L nitrates ok??

Add up the total number of snails. Your probably making a wise choice by only getting two of each snail and going from there.

    Adding multiple tangs !

Your corals will be fine for three days lights out. Ive done it on past tanks without issues. If it concerns you too much, two days lights out would be fine. I don't see any compatibility issues, personally. Although, more people need to post and express their opinions about it.

    Adding multiple tangs !

If your worried about an ammonia spike, there are several bacterial additives which people have found useful.

    Adding multiple tangs !

Well, in 400g (1500l) of water plus a sizable sump and a fuge, I doubt there would be much of any fluctuation in water parameters if you add them at once. I wouldn't feed more than usual though. I would slowly ramp it up to normal over a couple of weeks, just to be sure. I would also keep the...

    Need some Advice

There should be enough bacteria in it to keep ammonia and nitrite down for one neon goby. The problem is if the tank is cycled, if there is enough rock and sand, if it is ventilated, if his salinity and temp is relatively stable and if his tanks pH stays steady. There are way too many parameters...

    Adding multiple tangs !

1500 liters is 396 US gallons. You could claim a "400g aquarium" since it's so close.

    Adding multiple tangs !

If you want to exchange fish then by all means, do so. I would start with the more peaceful fish, like the clowns, copper band, the dragonets and the wrasse and space it out over the course of a month. Then I would add the powder blue after a decent quarantine period and then try adding the...

    Best RO/DI unit?

I've never had it damage my skin. Ever. It will rust metal, but that's because of oxydation and reduction reactions.

    Need Calculation

Oh, then that's easy. Add filter floss to the inside of it. Polyfill is cheap. It comes in sheets and fluff. Walmart and other craft stores should sell it.

I've drank it for ten years. I guess I should be in the hospital by now.

    Need Calculation

If you took your tank down you could have easily added a bean animal overflow to the back of the tank. is the overflow box held in place by the bulkhead like a glass holes overflow or is it siliconed in? If it's just on there with a bulkhead, you could drain your tank down just low enough to...

    5mg/L nitrates ok??

That's cool to know. For the other parameters we use Fahrenheit, specific gravity, ppt for salinity, dKH for alkalinity, and pretty much ppm for everything else. That's the standards in the aquarium hobby. There are some aquarists that prefer mEQ/L for alkalinity. Some people say that you...

    Best RO/DI unit?

My TDS of my tap water is anywhere between 400-1500. That's why I have a 9 stage RO/DI unit. I prefer to have over filtered than under filtered.
