    5mg/L nitrates ok??

Once ammonia and nitrite are zero, you can add fish. There will always be some nitrate. Add a skimmer to the tank when yall can. It will help with the algae and nutrient issues. I can't find my test right now to look at the chart, but most hobbyists measure nitrate in terms of ppm or parts...

end of hunting season, good memories.

We took in a deer a couple years ago that scored 236. From Wisconsin. We average 150-160 shoulder mounts a year. This year the weather was terrible. We didn't take in as many but we made up for it with small bodied mammals and ducks. It's snowing in north louisiana right now.

    Best RO/DI unit?

Nothing wrong with drinking pure water. If it was bad, they would not sell zero TDS water at Walmart for $0.39/gallon as drinking water. The argument against pure drinking water is that it doesn't contain trace minerals like calcium and magnesium. But tap water also contains medications...

Nice buck. I still got about 60 to mount this year. Ay-meet huh? I live in West Monroe. We are like 4 hours away. Lol

    What's your favorite coral?

Lol. SPS don't make you an expert at all. There are NPS corals that I won't even touch.

    Generator finally set up.

LOL! I know, right? I was IN MY CAR when the tornado blew through. I had a tree fall right behind me, roughly 15 foot from my rear bumper and I was really just worried about losing electricity for an extended period.

    What's your favorite coral?

Beautiful pictures, Mandy. I'm jealous of your tank. My favorite corals are any SPS coral... You name it. Different colors, different morphs and shapes, different growing patterns and everything - it's pretty cool to see a fully grown in SPS tank.

    Generator finally set up.

Yeah, I think eventually I will get more then just a generator for my tank - maybe some battery backups for those short term outages. We really do have our electricity outages a lot around here. Just five months ago we had a tornado blow through my neighborhood and the power was out for over a week.

Your tank could be featured in a book!

Absolutely. I'm going to let this thread float around for the next six months. I need as many entries as possible of successful reef tanks.

    Current USA orbit marine

I can seriously see them doing ok with a fowlr system. I've heard that they can grow coralline and are ok for mushrooms, zoas and xenia... but I'm more interested in high-light demanding corals. Even if I decide to buy two of these units, I would be at $400... and with an extra hundred, I could...

    Current USA orbit marine

Hey all, Anyone use these lights? What is your experience with them? How do you know that they are working as they should? Any positive benefits after using this light? What kind of corals are you growing with it? I'm just trying to gather some information on these lights before I decide to...

    Pocket pH pens

I guess a pocket pH pen is not such a bad idea afterall. It's relatively cheap and should work every time..

    New 75g Reef Tank

So I'm thinking about buying two RW15 Jebao pumps with their wireless controllers. Seems like they are pretty good quality and people like them. To help with the algae problem I'm going to buy some phosphate media and get my reactor online. I got my skimmer working properly again so it should...

    Pocket pH pens

I know that Hanna makes a photospectrometer for pH that's like $50, but wouldn't a pocket pH pen be a lot cheaper and better over time... 700 hours of use and no solutions to have to use... plus I found one for $16. At a quick glance it looks like it's worth the small investment if you don't...

    Not having luck with pumps

I could put it on a platform so it stops making noise... but in the directions it said it can function in as much as 9.4" of water perfectly fine... It's claims don't match it's performance, which is what I don't like about it. The skimmer pump just went quiet again. Probably will start...

    Not having luck with pumps

The temporary maxijet pumps I have on the tank have been losing suction and falling down into the sandbed and stirring stuff up. I'm so ready to get better powerheads. My return pump, the Lifeguard Aquatic quiet one model 4000 that I currently have does this vibration noise but it's on the...
