    Ok the depth of the sand bed it up to you, we can go around and around on it. I would go with 2 inch in your tank. And deeper in your refuge. You can get the PVC at Lowes so if you go with a 2 inch sand bed you make the height of the tables 1 ¾ inch. Your rock then only sits ¼ inch in the sand...
