I've talked with the LFS and they said Xenia does not take to tanks that have good water quality. If your tank is in there eyes dirty, Xenia will do well. Irondog, your tank conditions are perfect. That could be why Xenia is melting. My friend claims to have perfect conditions and Xenia grows...

People trim there xenia so it does not take over the entire tank.
