A 5ft 156 would be ideal, imho. It is a very nice dimensioned tank. I don't think a reef tank is the best bet for a day care. It would be severly neglected. I would do a FOWLR and be done with it.

I wouldn't risk it, seems like that would be a quick, and expensive snack.

They grow realitively slow. They reach sexual maturity in 10-12 years. So figure 4-5 years before they get too big for the home aquarium. I am sure some of the local Aquariums wouldn't mind adding a few horseshoes to their touch tank, free of cost.

Yes, chromis will slowly pick each other off, until their down to one. Survival of the Fitest.

Definetly feed it. Brine has little nutritional value. Cut up a silverside into small 1/4"x1/4" pieces and feed each mouth.
