This thread always cracks me up. One person says "Great pics!" then another says "I don't see the pics " then someone says "they're no longer hosted". Well apparently some people are able to see the pics... I fear I'll never see this tank.

Its growth has to do with lights and nutrients. Over-feeding may be producing a lot of nitrates for it to eat. If you don't have a lot of coral that will suffer, consider decreasing the time the lights are on.

5 is a negligible amount of nitrates, really, especially without coral. If they consistently go higher, water changes work, but since you have a sump is there space to add some macroalgae and a light? My reef hasn't had any nitrates since I added macro to the fuge.

I can't imagine that you could be sure... proof is out of the question.

this doesn't seem like something any of us can help you with... personally, i'd wait. moving a tank is a hassle at best and can be costly in terms of livestock losses.
