yeah, commercial drivers are just way overpriced. I've found some free board programs, but I'm just not motivated to go in that direction. As soon as my prototype has been running about a week, I'll post the final schematic and if anyone wants to make a PCB, I'd definantly be interested in...

    New to Saltwater Fish Tanks

In the case of saltwater, the cheaper you get, the more problems you get. I'd suggest getting a 20 gallon long...setup with some display macros, softie corals if any, and get your basics under way before going much larger.

Ok, sorry about the double post here. Neptune, let's get your configuration down first. Hope you've have your coffee, cause this might be a long post. If at any point you have questions, please ask them as you don't want to go buy the wrong stuff. Yes you are correct. You're going to have 2...

My 20 Gallon fully stocked Reef

That's a shame. I'd love the goronian and rics in my tank. WOW!

    Hey ya'll, what's this?

shoot, I remember reading this a couple days back. If my memory is correct, it's a nudibranch, algae eating. I remember it is good though.

If done even on breadboards from the shack, you would DEFINANTLY get them in a small container like that. The drivers are super easy to do, I did one in about 10 mins. The drivers so far are around 2 bucks a piece. For sake of simplicity, bump those last couple LEDs up to full strings...

Picture time! The second picture is to compair. The left side with the blues, right side without. Right now the blue to white ratio is 1:2 IDK if I want to go more blue or not, as I like a more white, crisp coloration.

So, let's break this down. The suggested power supply is ~24V @ 6.5A (suggested by me). You might be limited to strings of 5 LEDs (like mine), because of the different voltage drops of the LEDs. You can run safely 6 strings per power supply, and maybe push it to 8, but if you're going to...

Saltwater plants to help lower Nitrates

They normally keep them from reaching detectable levels. There's always going to be trates, but if it's being continuously used up by algaes or plants, then the issue is void. On a sidenote, dang I wish it was easier to keep seagrass. I'm working on a seagrass refuge (in a month or so hopefully)

How would you do the delivery?

I think you're going to be ok. I've had coral on my front door for 3 hours when it was like 70 out. Never had an issue

Neptune. I'd seriously suggest looking at DIYing your own drivers, and part together everything yourself. Although the "kits" now starting to pop up on the market are great for a quick fixture, I think you're going to be much happier if you piece together your own. How many total LEDs are you...

Thanks acrylic So here are a couple shots. I currently have only 30 White LEDs on the tank running. I'm playing around with some different color ratios, and am waiting for some cheapo red, green and yellow LEDs to come in, before I finish with the Blues. The LEDs are driven at ~1000mA. This...

The DIY drivers, IMO, are the only way to go. Yeah, they don't look as spiffy, but you put them all in a project box anyways. I wish I would have known about the LEDs before I bought my Power Compacts a year ago. I'm not even running a 1/4th of my LED power, and I'm still bleaching corals...

I believe it's a LTA. I saw in one of the species books at a LFS the species. Too bad I forget it. It's a sand dweller, once typical characteristics of LTA's. If it's on the rocks, then maybe I'm wrong.

Or, they're just shedding. All leathers need to shed every once in a while.
