    Some water changes will help... otherwise get a good two part additive such as B-Ionic and does both alkalinity and calcium to bring things up. We do need to know what unit of measure you're using... like Laddy asked, is it 3.0 dkh or meq/l??

    No it's not nessesary... although there is a differance between running carbon and running a bio-wheel. I'd remove the bio-wheel and run carbon once a month or so.

    You could get by with stock lighting in a FOWLR... nothing special would be needed.

    LMB's are algae eaters... although mine eats anything I put in the tank. Like toungetwster's he is nice and fat. He still feeds off the glass and rocks all day long but he's always first in line at feeding time. Mandarin are meat eaters feeding mostly on pods and such in the tank.
