Imo run it 24/7... Yes it can kill pods, phyto extc. But Imo not enough to put a big effect on the population. I run a 36 watt uv on my parents 75g. and I didn't notice any affect on the pod population.:D

Imo, if you have a heavy load of any of the following baby clams, softys, LPS then I reccoend dosing Phytoplankton. If your tank is sps dominated then Imo its just a waste of money and good prestine water quality.:D Also if you chose to dose it I recomend Dt's phyto.:D

I'd get a minijet ph and a skimmer it doesn't have to be a eurorreef to skim a 10g. a 50$ seaclone of ---- will be awesome filtration on a 10g. and your water will be noticably cleaner.:D
