Suggest Power Head for mixing salt

In a 10 gallon? I'd go with a plastic spatula.

    Sand Sifting Gobies

I've got a reef with a diamond goby. My only complaint is that he eats all of the pods on the sand. He doesn't do the sand bed any harm... he keeps it clean. If you want to keep any sessile critters directly on the sand then they might get some sand in them or move them around, but if not I...

    Tomato hosting GSP

Haha, well that's good. Since your tank has a curved edge I'd be worried that there might be a problem with the clown seeing it from the inside. It's probably fine but I'd try to make sure the meat of the picture is on a flat part. Since you've got a smaller tank I don't think it matters...

    Tomato hosting GSP

Hrm... I guess you'd have to ask the fish! That looks good. One of the fish more inside it might work better, but I can't say with any authority. I'd put it near the frogspawn or where the clown tends to hang out. Good luck.

Have You Ever Ordered From SWF.com?

Once. I got a beautiful green lobo and a cleaner shrimp. The livestock arrived in great condition and was very high quality. The lobo is the centerpiece of my aquarium, and i paid much less for it than i feel i would have been charged at an LFS.

    Tomato hosting GSP

I bought this guy an anemone a few days ago, and tried the old picture of a clown hosting to give him the idea (this has worked for me in the past). The anemone wedged itself, somewhat inaccessibly, between two rocks, but the fish got the idea and is now hosting my GSP colony. He had never...

    salinity of 1.30 help!

I know this has been said in this thread but a thread some time ago had a guy doing top offs with salt water. Make sure when you top off due to evaporation the water is FRESH. Salt doesn't evaporate.

Coralife Superskimmer or Red Prizm Deluxe Skimmer

I have a coralife hanging off of one of my tanks and it works well except that seemingly at random it will fill up all of a sudden. It's almost like there has been a power surge and the pump goes into high gear. I think it is better fitted for an in sump design. I recommend AquaC remora.

    Smoking ban in public places

Well depends on what you mean by public. In public buildings like court houses and what not, of course I support it. In private businesses like restaurants and bars I think it's an absurd overreach of the government's authority. Why should anyone but the proprietor decide whether or not...

    Does low temp ruin cycle?

Well the tank was already fully cycled, with a rather high bioload at that, so my concern is not bacterial growth, rather bacterial die-off, which shouldn't really occur at a bacteriostatic temperature, which of course 55 degrees is not. Oh well, I guess I will do some testing. I think I'll...

    Does low temp ruin cycle?

I have a 29 gallon that was being used as a QT. It had been empty for a few days when the heater broke. I've just now replaced it (a few weeks later), so the temperature has been up and down between 55 and 72 for time. I have been feeding the tank a bit to keep the cycle up. My question is...

    can gobies get ich?

I'm not telling you that gobies can't get ick, but I have been told that gobies are less susceptible to ick than the average fish. I don't think they're immune by any means, and I have no idea whether or not they can transmit it without being sick themselves, but that's what I've heard. Also...
