    Republican Candidates

In my above post --- is supposed to be a three letter word that means whether or not something, in this case a human, is male or female. I'm still unsure why, in a forum that deals with animals whose... male or femaleness, often needs to be referred to, that word gets filtered out. It's not dirty.

    Please help on Fuge

Is the tank drilled? Are these overflow boxes built in or HOB? Whatever the answer, I think the drain of the overflow will match the rate of return. If it lags, for some reason, you can probably modify the overflow (make the slits bigger). I'd have two returns, one from each side of the tank...

    Sump/Refugium

I don't know much about HOB refuges except that they're pretty expensive. If you go the traditional route you get a sump as well, which is great for putting equipment in. I didn't think I minded all of the HOB stuff until I was rid of it. It looks much nicer. Anyway, the HOBs I have seen...

    Sump/Refugium

For a non-drilled tank this is done by two main mechanisms: first, a HOB overflow box prevents excess water from being siphoned out in the event of a pump shut-off. They work very similarly to in-tank overflows, allowing only a few gallons (max) of water to overflow if there is no return...

    IS Sun Coral a goner??

Sounds like a goner to me. I would contact whatever supplier you ordered it from (if it has a guarantee).

    Clown Anemone question

I'm astounded that there aren't serious issues with all those different clowns in the same tank! Hopefully your luck will hold. I feel like adding an anemone will cause some territory problems in an already precarious situation. Normally it is not recommended to have more than one type of...

    LFS: What's the point?

I don't think having aiptasia in their fish tanks disqualifies them from having good fish. I'd QT it, of course.

I second the strike. Though technically reading is looking, when someone says LOOK AT THIS I expect a sweet pic. STRIKE!

    tank cracked

Sorry to hear it. I hope you're not offended but it's hard to understand what you're saying when you don't use punctuation or capitalization or anything... something to think about. Good luck with the new tank.

Porcupine Puffer & a Chocolate Star

Get rid of the puffer since it's TOO BIG for that tank. Then the star will have no enemies.

my gsp's aren't looking so good

To me that sounds like way too much light for them. I'd move them to the sand bed and see if they improve.

    Equipment for a 50 gal

I think you need to first make sure you have enough for adequate live rock and a good skimmer. I know it's hard to accept spending hundreds of dollars on ROCK, but it is the foundation of a successful aquarium. If you're planning FO (as in no live rock)... so be it, but do at least get all live...

    Can i add anymore fish?

If your filtration is adequate I would think you could get away with another small bioload fish. Firefish comes to mind.
