I had to quickly set up a QT recently. No cycle, lots of ammonia, daily water changes to keep it at bay. All the fish survived, however, but I suspect more delicate fish would not have made it.

I gotta figure the kids were wrong for provoking it, of course, but the zoo clearly has to expect that sort of stuff from visitors and needs to make the enclosure INESCAPABLE. They're tigers, of course, and they kill people all the time. It's a sticky case I guess, and I hate it, but I think...

I guess you could hatch it... then give it away or sell it to an LFS. But no shark is going to fit happily in a 30 gallon for any period of time. The egg, i suspect, won't mind, assuming you've got shark-egg-hatching-quality water.
