Why would you make up a question for the forums? There are many burrowing fish that do extensive sand renovation. Sand-sifting gobies, for instance, do this all the time.

I have a nova extreme hood that is 2x54 watt 10,000K and 2x54 watt actinic. Do both count towards my "watts per gallon" as it applies to keeping corals? or do the actinics contribute less in terms of coral health? Thanks

You can do it! Here's an idea that might address some of those problems: get a bucket or container or some sort that fits in somewhere in your tank and stick the shrimp in it. Add some pieces of LR and maybe chaeto... not too much though. Get a few layers of cheese cloth and put them over...

If he's describing what I think he is, the spots are visible at night, but in the morning they are not easily seen. Mine would be very apparent at night, but dull and difficult to see in the morning.

Shipping is going to cause some die-off. If your tank has any critters in it already you should cure it.

If it isn't due to evaporation you'll want to add premixed water back in. If you add fresh RO water, then the salinity will decrease. Mix some up in a tub or bucket or something and add it. Maybe the LFS just meant to use RO water to make the mix?

I had a tomato clown that did the same thing. At night he looked awful, in the morning I was sure he was cured. Long story short, it died and all my fish are in QT. Anyway, I think it's the lighting that causes that... my only guess anyway.
