ok so i went to my LFS and they explained how it works. they said that i just put the tube in the water, let it fill-up then cap off the two ends and let it work like my vac hose works. thanks for the help

ok i have a few questions about cheato: what is it used for? i think i have an idea i just want to make sure. how quickly will it grow? what is the minimun amount of light it needs to grow? what fish will eat it? thanks

yea i know that but wouldnt it let air right back in? or is there somthing that stops it from losing pressure? (like an air pump or something)

nat- ok so i found those overflows you were talking about at a nice price of $45.00. now my question is, there is a sypon tube at the top of this thing what do i do with that?

you would need a return pump. mag drives are the only ones i have looked at so far. i just dont know what type i would need if i built a custom overflow, like shown. to return the water. so many options what to pick i guess

i did do that the first time. he got one of my huge turbo snails. and i also bought him a few marg snails. and they all died. he hasnt ever been able to keep snails. a few years ago befor ehe set up this 125g. it was a 35hex and he had about 15 bumble bee snails that died within 1 week. so...

i dont know if this helps or not but, he has about 15 hermits in there that are doing great, also 1 huge banded shrimp.

he does use tap water salt is perfect 1.023 and a 3 hour acclimtation. they got acclim. with a fish thats y the got so long of an acclimation.

the tank i have my turbos in dosnt have to much for them to knock over.there arnt any corals in the tank its a FOWLR so i dont have to worry about it. as far as the hermits eating the snails they probly will, a way to try and stop that is by buying small hernits and large snails and then having...

i like turbos the best cuz you see them alot more. but i have like 4 or 5 different types in my tank. what one doesnt get another one eats.

not it is all starting to make sence. i think i am gonna go to my LFS and see what they have set up to figure out some of the things out. i dont know if i should make my own overflow, buy one, or what. for the sump i have the plan/design already.

i was thinking about making a small section to have some extra water spill into in case of a power outage. so in the last area where my return pump is i would have a connectot to a 5g tank off to the side just in case it does deside to overflow.

isnt that y i am oly saposta have a certian amount of water in the tank as i am in the sump? so that way in case i am not home and the power goes out i do not have to restart the syfin.
