    Night Vision

You should be able to use a flashlight with a medium to dark blue lens as well. This would better simulate a moon glow through the water then a red light. The only benefit that I am aware of to using a red lens is the red doesnt effect our night vision...but then, if you havent acclimated your...

    aged water?

Ensure when you are letting your water set you keep it agitated with a pump or air...temp control is convenient for when the time comes to use it..it is already to temp. Aging allows a gas exchange to take place within the water itself.

    Turbo-Twist 3x --- Mega problems!

I am thinking you should collect on what you can. What if you didnt have a grounding probe? There are many what ifs here. Did they ask for the unit to be returned so as they can inspect it and try and determine the cause (defective design, materials or what have you)? It would seem to me a...

Problem with my flow rate to refugeium -to sump

If you have two, 1 inch overflows feeding the refuge and only 1 inch flow out of the refuge...how would you expect a balanced system? You probably need to increase the flow out of the refuge past the flow to it...i.e...700gph into it..and maybe 750gph out...would prevent any bottlenecks... Your...

    Still confused

Oh and a refuge is a setting of low pressure...low flow and out of the mainstream of the tank...most people use it to house macro algeas or other things for additional filtration as well as natural food growth, etc. usually th refuge is attached with a supply line from a sump and a return to the...

    Still confused

Regardless of what precautions you will take...changes as drastic as you are intending will create a cycle of some degree...I would still think it to be a large cycle... The efforts and ideas mentioned above will minimize some of the effects of a full cycle...but I believe you will still hav a...

    Still confused

If I read your couple of posts correctly...you are trying to remove an UGF and switch from CC to sand? If this is the case...removing the UGF itself will cause a cycle...and I wouldnt be to sure about it being a mini cycle either as this is what flowed your water through the CC which was your...

do you use water from acclimation process? not for newbies.

There is no (that I am aware of) freshwater dips as you are assuming. A FW dip is putting a marine fish in a temp controlled, dechlorinated pool of water with no salinity...leaving it there for about 3 minutes, then taking him out. There is no dipping as per the word dipping. None the less...you...

    Ro Or Rodi Unit

The RO portion will only remove a portion of all contaminents in a given water supply..this is accomplished through water being forced through a thin membrane filter... The DI either stand alone, or portion removes all negative and possitive ions from the water. This is done through...
