    CC is fine in a refuge...coral skeletons are pretty much calcium and buffer quite well...as for the pods...they do well in CC or sand...I have noticed with the pods though...in the CC they are in and out, around and over the CC pieces.

    It will be cured when your amonia is back at 0.. and not a moment before hand... Keep it circulated, heated to about 82-84, and change the water every two-three days... You may even run an airline into the curing container...

    If you let it setup for a while and do its own little cycle it would be fine...but then whatever fish you have could be in it for a few weeks and could stress them out.
