    What are these?

There is no guarantee peppermint shrimp will kill them. They might. They might not. Some things are tough enough to live through the cycle. I still say Kalkwasser. It's just to make calcium water with. Nothing un-natural about it.

    Need Help Fast

Yes, you'll have to verify your account. I think that means they will deposit money into your bank account/credit account and take it back just to make sure you have somewhere to transfer funds to. It's been a while since I set mine up, I can't remember for sure, but I think that's how it works.

    ID on Growth in Sump

What bigarn said. Your tank was apparently well-seeded when you started it up. These things start out planktonic and then settle somewhere for the next stage of their life. You won't see a lot of them in your display because other things will prey on them. In your sump they're protected from...

You can buy a small container of Kalkwasser probably cheaper than Joe's Juice. It's to buffer your water. Basically the same exact thing as Joe's Juice. Get a small syringe at a drug store, cheap as dirt. Mix some of the kalk with a little bit of tank water to make a thick fluid, almost paste...

    squirmy wormy

It's a peanut worm. They actually bore through the live rock with that mouth. And they can turn themself inside out. Beneficial, not harmful.

    I

#5's probably a pink sponge. You've got a good idea of what you're looking at. Dunno if #2's a "Q-tip" sponge though. Looks to be some sort of sponge, but not a Q-tip. They look like white, fuzzy vaces. That looks irregularly shaped and grey.

    Aiptasia?

There are A LOT of different kinds of hydroids. Like thousands... Check out Pennaria disticha. Kind of similar. There are a lot that grow like feathers. Long stalk with hair-like appendages along the sides of the stalk. Some kind of colonial hydroid though. I'd put money on it.

    New Duncan

Everyone says they grow pretty fast. Mine haven't given me a lot of new heads over the past few months, but when I bought them the existing two heads were dime-sized. I have 2 new heads that are dime-sized now, and the original two are MUCH bigger.

how much to feed the fish

If you decide to keep some kind of macro algae in there I would add a light, but if just live rock, then you won't need it. A clip-on "work lamp" like you'd see in a mechanic shop is cheap and sufficient. Just a few pounds.

List of fish/inverts that hobbiests should avoid

The comment on Cuttlefish (being lumped in with jellyfish?) is not quite accurate. Sepia bandensis a "Dwarf Cuttlefish" is reasonably hardy, only grows to 4-5 inches, and only requires 30 gallons. They are being captive-bred on the hobby level. While they aren't peaceful enough to keep in a...

how much to feed the fish

How large is the tank? 250 watts is pretty good for anything you would want to keep on a smaller sized tank. The size of the tank is going to determine how many fish/what kind of fish you can keep. It doesn't sound like you're going overboard though. If you're growing coralline algae (the purple...
