    need ID's on algae

You're going to have to get better (in-focus) pictures for the first one. Describe the texture, color, etc. Could be cyanobacteria, could be diatoms... can't tell. Too blurry. How long has your tank been set up? As for the algal fim on the glass in the other pictures, I can't tell you what kind...

how much to feed the fish

Put in a pinch, wait, watch them eat, when it's all gone repeat until they don't show any more interest in the food. The rock is "alive" because it's full of small organisms. Some of which you might can see and some you can't see. Most likely you'll see small worms on the surface. After a few...

    Mandarin & Scooter Blenny

They won't fight, but one will out-compete the other for food in that small of a tank. Unless maybe you have a ginormous refugium plumbed in. General rule of thumb is that a Mandarin needs about 100lbs of liverock to graze on. You might get lucky and find one that actually eats frozen mysis though.

    Building Rock Pillars

Look for an acrylic/glass shop in your area. You could use very small diameter PVC, but you need to drill lots of holes in it so it isn't a dead spot. Plus you'd have to have a pretty big drill bit to accomodate the size of the smallest PVC you're gonna find. Epoxy alone just isn't going to...

    Cleanup Crew

It's good to have something that will keep the surface of the sand turned over, like lots of hermits or some serpent/brittle stars. Really a cleanup crew can only do so much and is only supplementary to YOUR maintenance practices. The little critters can get to places you can't and take care of...

    Dogface Puffer Questions

You can buy raw frozen shrimp with the shell and tail on, my puffer liked that a lot. And yes! They do eat snails, but that's going to be pretty pricey in the long run, not practical. You should look at your local grocery store in the meat department. They should have some sort of variety of raw...

    is this to little

Go to a fish store, and I mean a real fish store, not *****. If money is no object, just tell them you need filtration for a 200 gallon tank, but compact enough to fit in the stand of your 100 gallon. Since the 100 gallon is still a bit small for a mature adult Porc or Dogface you're going to...
