    Cleaning behind your reef

Just take a small power head and stick it back behind the rock every now and again to stir things up. Its a good idea to do it on your rocks every now and again as well. Just to get the dirt in suspension and possibly have it removed or placed in front of a good critter.

    Hitch hiker ID

Looks like some kind of rock anemone. Maybe Phymantus. Maybe a heteractus but they look more like a "typical" anemone. Nothing but a rock anemone/aptasia would survive a live rock xfer. Moral of the story is its some kind of rock anemone/aptasia.

    Red General Starfish

If a fish is weak and dying in the sand then maybe but i would worry about them actively catching a fish. Just make sure the fish doesn't eat the star....

Sand can foam at the top especially if you are running your filters. Just use your hand to break it up. It will all eventually settle once it gets populated by bacteria.

    Frag Questions

Xenia just take some sharp sissors and snip. I did today. My variety bases in a day so go very loose on the rubberband or they will split and come loose. Zoos can usually be detatched from their mother colony and placed elsewhere. Find a horseshoe and place a line of superglue gel in the...

    Limpets- good or bad

Those are limpets. Some eat corals. Some are just intertidal and eat algae. Keep an eye on any zoos you have. I have some in my 12. You can find them sometimes up in your filters where there is high water flow. The ones you have look like algae eaters. The small white dots on your tank...

    Easy beginner coral recommendations

I second the more rock. You have ALOT of tank space to work with. I would HIGHLY recommend stacking the rock up near the top or you are going to have a very hard time fixing or placing anything.... Corals have a funny way of falling over from time to time :)

What's with the blue bulb ?

The blue and white light are spectrums of light coming out of the bulb. If you ever do corals they like the blue spectrum of light. While the white bulb provides everything else. If you go to a 10k bulb your tank will be brighter and still have some blue. If you go with a 20k bulb the tank...
