20 high or long?
I have an aqualight by corallife on my tank 130 watts of pc 24 inch fixture. Thats about the best you can get without spending 200+ dollars. I got mine for 125 to my door. If you are thinking of a 55 reef one day then I would invest in a ICECAP ballast that powers VHO bulbs...
uh i think 300 youll change.... Then im guessing a 1000 for me :)
Er wait maybe it was 750. I just noticed what i am....
Theres also a way to change the animal but i haven't sat down and figured it out. Its just an association for how many posts you have. You see SHARK you think all knowing...
I"ve never PM but its possible it could be a realtime format such as Instant Messenger, in which case anything realtime is a drain on a site. I can also tell you that the size of pictures has been drastically cut since i started almost a year ago. It used to be about half a meg for pics i...
As smokin said but Ill add that it will be about 8 months down the line that it happens..... If you have a sure fire way of getting things down into the filter plate to clean it then keep it. Otherwise keep the power head and put lots of rock in it. The rock is all the filtration you need as...
They aren't bad but thats the whole point of bubbles in a skimmer. To trap organics in the water and shoot them to the surfce where they can be collected. If you notice Gunk building up on the surface of your water youll know the airstones did it :)
Doesn't hurt to invest in a skimmer. I would get a CPR brand for your tank. You can also do a couple other things. I also run mechanical/wetdry filters with my tanks just for extra filtration and circulation. A skimmer is all you really need. Especially if you have alot of live rock. That...
Airstones in the tank? Shouldn't have airstones in a salt tank. I think it creates skimmer effect with the top of your water. As far as the fish goes he either really likes the current generated and is just coasting for food in the water column or you have poor oxygen content in your tank...
Hence the name Rye :)
As far as soap goes. It's not the end of the world. You have to cycle the tank anyways. I'm not exactly sure what soap does but i think it really adversly affects phosphate levels in the tank thus causeing algae blooms. Do a large water change to the tank. Stop the...
Swimming room, and lots to eat will keep one happy.
Make sure you can quarentine them. They and the powder tangs are notorious for the "but he didn't have ich at the LFS" problem :)
pretty much yes. They are in the same family. zoos is the scientific name i think. There are just alot of different types some that don't have noticable "buttons"....
If he isn't hiding, hermits and crabs can make short work of a fish body, to the point that there is no trace. If he did die and was healthy then he could have been caught over night.
What kind of shrimps and crabs do you have?
Well. Look for the 48inch all in one halide fixtures. If you want to go that way. You could try and build your own canopy and then buy retrofit kits. That may be a little cheaper. Your prices sound about right. You going to pay at least 300+ i'd say. As far as what you get ask yourself...
You definitely got what you paid for. if you make a dedicated 10 gallon tank to them you might be able to pull it off. It's certainly not impossible. There is a guy around here breeding maroons. It could possibly be very lucrative for you....
:) welcome to the war.
For kittens i think you can bathe them regularly in the sink. Get some mild soap for them. That should keep them under control. Vacuum regularly and kill any of them you see. The reason it got so bad here is because the dog is super long haired and black to boot...
