Just curious about the long term life of clowns in a aggressive tank. How long might that be a couple of years, maybe 3 if bought as a juvi? Has anyone experienced the clown wiping out their tank firsthand? Thanks
Okay so what about the actual moving of the fish from the dt to the qt and back again? Is the primary reason for a QT to protect a diseased fish from being picked on by his tankmates or is it to effectively treat them. I guess I am wondering if you just had fish and liverock in your DT would...
Alright I am sorry to run this by everyone again but I was hoping to find a little more info about a couple of fish. Here is the list I am going over to determine the last addition:
1 maroon clown
1 porcupine puffer (not sure if compatible with dogface, I have read that you cannot keep 2...
Wow thanks for the great info! Here is another question do you ever run into an issue of after having qted a fish for a few weeks until he is healthy when you move him into the dt he becomes stressed again and the condition resurfaces? Thanks
I test the water weekly and plan on doing at least weekly water changes to keep everybody healthy. Do you have a recommendation of another colorful/interesting fish that could go with the others outside of a trigger? I am not sold on adding another trigger I just figured those would be able to...
Thanks everybody! So this is what we have so far
Dogface (in tank)
Yellow tang
Picasso trigger
Harlequin tusk
Emperor angel
Would it be pushing it to add maybe one more trigger like a niger or blueline or maybe a foxface? Also what do you guys think about the order I should get them in...
Thanks guys. Yeah after I posted that list I did some more reading and saw that the grouper could get to be 26 inches long and I read that the regals are very difficult. So do you think an emperor would fit in with everyone else? Thanks
Aqua, having a couple chromis sounds better than just having an empty tank. However do they have any effect on doing treatment to a sick fish in the qt? Do you have it setup with substrate/live rock/skimmer and everything or is a qt more of a minimal setup? I know there is a lot of questions...
As I work on finalizing my stock list I am looking into a QT tank. What size do you recommend for triggers, puffers, angels, etc. Once you set up a QT do you leave it running all the time or do you just set it up when you need it? Thanks!
Alright I appreciate all of the input so far. I put together another "wish" list so to speak and wanted to see what you guys thought would be the best combination.
1 dogface puffer
1 yellow tang
1 panther grouper (dont know much about this one)
1 harlequin tusk
1 picasso trigger
1 clown...
Hey small triggers what size were your fish when added? Did you add them in any order? How long have they been together? That sounds like a sweet tank! Thanks
Okay for all of you who have succesfully kept clown triggers in the past what worked out for you? What size tank did you have? Did you have any other fish with him? Do they really interact with humans as well as I have read? Thanks!
Wow I am glad I posted here. A guy that works at my lfs gave me the the okay on that list. Thank you for all the advice. If I really wanted to add the lion what triggers would work? Would a picasso be too aggressive? Thanks
Hey all, I have been reading these forums for a while now and have learned a lot which I appreciate. I am in the process of slowly adding to my 150g fowlr and I hoped to get some feedback on my stock list. Here is what I am thinking:
1 dogface puffer (currently in tank)
1 clown trigger
1...
