I like my freshwater tank, I just need to slow the guppies down a litle bit so the mollies, swordtails, and platties could catch up to them. I'm just askin if its bad for a saltwater fish to eat a freshwater one.
Well, I have a freshwater tank full of livebearing fish (guppies, swordtails, mollies, and platties), and my guppies have sort of taken over the tank, do you think I could feed some of the baby (1/2 cm long) guppies to my watchman goby (2 inches long)?
I feed mine by putting flakes under the water so the will slowly drift by his cave that he hangs out in. I don't know why, he seems to only eat if it isn't on the ground yet, only if its floating around in front of him.
So, I went to one of my LFSs to get my first coral and when I picked out the small little zoa frag, he said I needed to feed it, is this true? I thought they could get their food through photosynthesis... I know you can feed them some other stuff, but I didn't think it was really necessary..
I'm not sure, for this guy, it seems like the opposite, when he/she is white, he/she seems happier (cruisin around the tank, eating, etc.), but when I did a water change the other day, he/she got yellowish and put his big fin down.
Well I just got a yellow watchman goby on Saturday and it seems to be changing colors. First it was a yellow with some gray on the top of its body, then it turned yellower than before, and now he is pale white. He looks healthy - swimming around, eating, normal watchman goby stuff.
Anyone...
My LFS just got some Maxima Clams in and I since they needed strong lighting, was wonderin if my little 3 Gallon Pico's light it came with was good enough for a clam. The specs are 9 watt compact fluorescent lam and Half 10K Day-Light/Half 7100k Actinic Blue.
I think its just an exaggeration, they use it for communication. About them being reef safe, I've only heard once they use some soft corals for beddding, but I don't know.
Well, I have a watchman goby, but I went to my LFS to buy a pistol shrimp and they said it was aggressive and could kill other fish, is this true? Most people say they are peaceful..
Well, my 3 gallon is sort of up and running already and this is my first saltwater tank.. I am going to upgrade to a 12 gallon around May though. Also, I don't really have too much money on my hands to start a 10 gallon after just setting this up.

You sure? It seems big enough and a clown goby won't exactly pair up with a pistol shrimp I don't think...
