    Limestone sand ?

if its limestone sand with no harmful impurities and the right size it will be fine. Like you stated its the same composition aragonite sand, live rock and the structure of your corals are made of. hell you should buy it by the ton and sell it in a pretty bag with fish on it $5 for a 20lb bag.

    SPS Care

I'll throw my 2 cents in. a) API calcium test are as good as any (that is close enough to the more renouned brands to be neglibly different). within 20ppm of ELOS everytime for 1/3 the cost and I have used them for 5yrs now and trying more expensive brand only leads back to API because its never...

Yellow Clown Goby and Panda Clown Goby in a nano?

I've always READ clown gobies may fight if placed in the same small tank. I've NEVER seen it in practice. I had a yellow and a much larger green clown goby and they'd perch right next to each other. Have had several clown gobies and never seen the least interest in battling with each other or...

    Too Much Flow??

you should be able to deflect the flow from 1500gph x2 in a 90g off liverock/glass to prevent sand blowing. its not too much for "normal" reef inhibitants (read unless you are keeping seahorses or something else that specifically require more relaxed flow its not too much).

wall to wall corals... how to do it?!

if you want to grow corals on the backwall glue them or lean them on the back wall. what corals specifically? zoas or star polyps should be removed from the rock they are on with a razor keeping (or as much as possible) in one piece and simply glued to the back wall. xenia you can lean the...

    help my zoa polyps.

I'm not sure what you mean. I meant just stick the zoas directly in front of the powerhead for a few seconds and let whatever comes off come off then place it back where its suppose to go and leave it be. whatever doesn't come off will come off eventually. if its something that comes off easily...

    tunze nanostream

not my experience at all. koralia: quieter (not that the tunze are loud. I cant hear them either unless I'm right over the tank but I cant hear the koralias at all), cheaper, superior wider dispersed flow pattern (with attachment off) tunze: better power to size ratio, superior mounting and...

"Just add water" reef...is it possible?

how dense is the coral growth? how much water volume total? how is growth of these corals? how long as he been taking this aproach (perhaps never means he started this 2 weeks ago) a. large water volume to coral density is usually going to deplete of ca, alk slower b. aragonite (crush coral...

    help my zoa polyps.

dont do anything. keep them right side up and wait. I've had zoas that have turned over as well as other mishaps take 3-6 months to recover but they always do. freshwater dipping is not going to do anything. If you want to dip do it in tank water and lugols or other coral dipping solution...

    This has me stumped

my tank has been up 1.5yrs and grows virtually NO coralline on the back wall or side panels (I stopped scraping the back wall because none grows there). dont have much on the rocks either. Only place it grows is the (bare) bottom and places I dont want it to grow like the powerheads and overflow...
