    Red plant ID

Common Name: Red Weed, or Red Algae Scientific Name: Agardhiella tenera Description: Coarsely bushy red algae with rounded branches tapering at base that can grow to a height of 1 foot tall. I think this is it. If it isthat case its not bad but probably better in your sump than your tank...

Please help me make a sump/refugium!!!

+1 on the flex tubing. much easier to work with to. and you dont have to worry about the tank draining into the sump if the power shuts off. These overflows are designed not to do that. All you have to watch is your return plumbing that will cause a back syphon unless you drill a small hole...

    Potential New Saltwaterfish.com Services

I think they are both good ideas. Not sure if it would drive in more customers or not but very handy to say the least. I just got an order in from here yesterday. I got a blue hippo tang and a powder blue tang. I thought I was going to loose the hippo it was just laying on its side during...

Please help me make a sump/refugium!!!

ok I got to correct this a mag7 kicks 700 GPH new. So you can run it with a CS90 because after head loss you will be under 600GPH and with any syphon style overflow you want to run at least 80-90 percent of the overflows rating. I would add a ball valve on the pump just in case but you will be...

    Removing my balls.

I have been around here and there. Life has been crazy lately. I have decided to slow things down now though since my son passed away this weekend. Not the one in my pic but an unborn son. Think I will take it easy for a while spend time with the wife and kid.

    Removing my balls.

Ok I have never used API test kit thats why I had to ask if the tank is cycling. But I do see spanko's point on none of the other params are off. So I would keep on doing what you are doing then

    Removing my balls.

With amonia of .25 your tank is still cycling. If thats the case is there anything alive in there if not just remove the balls. There is no point in slow removal. Just take an axe to em.

    Sump/refuge. Help?

flex tubing is alot easier to work with. It also helps maximize the amount of flow going back to the tank and down to the sump by not having elbows to fight against. Spray bars are ok but dont get a sand sifting goby mine used to burry the spray bar at the bottom causing a sand storm. In the end...

    Worm like thing under rocks..

yeah most of them are harmless and get pretty big. Just be carefull not to touch it. I have been stung by them with no ill effects but I have herd some horror stories. And a clear pic of it would be needed to confirm it is indeed a bristle worm. But sure sounds like one from you description...

New to the hobby with electrical questions

It sounds about right. I would recomend the 2 plug gfi for the wall much safer then the gfi power strips but the strips do work well its what I use. Running on its own circuit is also a good idea. I think you are on the right track. you might not use all of the outlets but better than not...

Honestly you are going to have to do it yourself they help but there not a cure all. Get what you like to see in...

    cleaning rusted powerheads

If you already soaked it in clr I would not put them in you tank. Yes you could have taken them aprt and with some elbow grease could have cleaned them up. But since you alrady put chemicals on them it will do more harm than good.
