It can be pretty bad. I had it in my garage during the warmer months and the garage stunk, I think that is an indication that you need to change the water.

Al Mc so both of your skimmers are not in the DT? What do you use for powerheads and what size tank are you running? Ikemeyer are you running two because you have lots of gunk floating around? Do you run a sump? how do they perform. Any pics?

Cool, I headed that direction, spent 800 on a fixture, bought some zoo frags got everything growing and suddenly found myself "fishsitting" a friends emporer angel and yellow tang, when I caught the emporer snacking on the zoos they (zoos) went into my 20 gal QT with the Odyssea light above it.
