    Good Agressives for 55 gallon

If it were me, I'd keep the tang, humu, and maroon, IF you carefully observe and they get along ok. I'd start with a larger maroon, like 3". I had horrible luck with butterflys, and this experience bears out in the literature, too. Humu's are extremely interesting fish, both behavior and...

stupid question? re tang w/ aggressives

Will a large blue tang, like 6"+ be ok in a 210 with a humu, clown trigger, x-hatch, lion, and spotted puffer (all in the 4-6" range)? Any tang that would be ok? (The other fish are fine together, btw)Thanks.

    harm to tile floor?

Moving my 150 from office to home, planning to put in on a granite tile (12" square) over slab floor. This is a 72x18" with an oak cabinet, full widthxdepth bottom. Anyone ever heard of such a thing cracking a tile floor? Thanks.

any one use coralife digital power center

You don't want the lunar lights on at night? I don't understand. I just leave the lunar lights on all the time. During the day, with the brighter lights on, they are essentially irrelevant. Unless there is a worry about them wearing out prematurely, why not just leave them on? One less timer.

Why not a pump instead of an overflow?

Simpler is usually better. An overflow is far simpler than coordinating two pumps. You know you can have an overflow without drilling, too? There are hang on overflow siphons.

    large cube tank?

Anyone have any experience with a (custom, sort of) cube tank, like 48x48x30 (300 g)? Does the fact of the diagonal length, about 68 inches, count for anything in terms of what's good for the fish? Thanks.

    tank leakage insurance?

I'm having an issue with my office building owner about the weight of a tank, and that may turn out ok. The owner said there might be a requirement for an indemnity if the tank leaks. I'd be happy to do that, but I wonder if anyone is familiar with any sort of tank leakage insurance...

140 deep vs. 150 long aggressive loading

Thanks, all. Of course, the big bummer here is not the tank or the fish, but what size tank and location my wife will tolerate. Probably not a unique problem, I assume.

how long will used water keep?

I'm changing tanks, and had a problem arise after I drained the first (a 55 g fowlr). The water is being stored in 5 gallon bottles. Anyone have any idea how long the water (which I assume had bacteria, waste, etc., in it) will keep? I hate to waste all that saltwater, plus I'm thinking it would...

140 deep vs. 150 long aggressive loading

I may not be able to keep my 150 g 72x18x29 tank at the office, and I can't fit one that big at home (at least with spousal approval). So, I may be stuck with a 140, 48.5x24.5x29. The is an aggressive tank, with a 5" Humu, 7" Spotted Puffer, 5" Crosshatch, 4" Clown Trigger, and a large...

    air bubbler in tank?

What's the consensus on air bubbles in a large fowlr tank? I think they look sort of cool, but my fish pro guy said they were messy, but did not explain. How would bubbles be messy? Also, do you all think that bubbles are sort of like having a plastic sunken ship in a tank, detracting from the...

    engineers out there? tank crisis...

I've had a 55 g tank in my office for about 4 months, and I now have a 150 sitting there dry but ready to be filled. Coincidentally, a guy with the building owner saw the new tank and wants me to get rid if it, citing the lease disallowing animals and saying the floor load rating won't handle...
