putting acrylic inserts in a glass tank

I've worked with glass and different plastics, both are fairly easy to work with and have their pros and cons. As far as silicone, make sure that you use one that is designed for aquariums, some have poisons to kill mold like those made for bathrooms.

I wouldn't worry, I've had one of my aquariums for 34 years now, yes 34 years! And as I look at it right now the water level differance from front to back is about 3/8. I had to recently replace the front glass, I broke it durring a move. Other than that it has never failed.

    going on vacation

I would try to get someone to look after my tank, but I know that it's not always possible. You could cover the tank and sump with plastic wrap to reduce evaporation and leave your pumps running. As far as the auto feeders, I don't know anything about them, but thought of trying them myself a...

Who started out with Tap Water?

Pete, I use Spectrapure 2000 Plus RO/DI, it is very simple to use as I imagin that most are. It simply screws on the tap like a garden hose on one end, and has a discharge hose and a pure water hose on the other. Use the pure water to fill your buckets or tank and the discharge to water the plants.

    Zebra moray & Bamboo shark

In Hawaii I had a zebra moray that was 4 feet. I watched him eat a fair sized octopus just before I caught him. Most of the zebra's that I caught were between 2'-3'.

    use skimmer?

Unless your CPR is a CY194 or 294, it's too small and not rated for a tank of that size.

    Black Durgon Trigger

I miss living in the tropics. With the ocean right there why not catch your own fish and inverts? Just make sure that you have the proper permits if required.

what kind of inverts for a 72 gal?
