Is my coral dying or dead? (pic)

email that pic to the supplier and verify what their DOA policy is. Those corals are DOA in my opinion. They will look nothing like what you paid for even if the small amount of tissue left does live. The supplier is going to say "well they were alive when you got them, so we dont cover it...

how do u frag a bubble coral?

of all the things to frag, I think bubble coral, elegance and wall hammer should be avoided. They too often get infections and you lose both pieces, the frag and the mother. If you want to experiment with fragging, try some shrooms and zoas Good Luck, if you DO frag it please post your...

    Funny things your fish do

I had a bicolor blenny that would bite my forearm whenever I stuck my hand in the tank... not fingers.. the soft skin on the underside of your arm! My maroon clown is so outgoing that when my hands are in the tank he comes looking for food. I literally have to shoo him away by touching him, he...

    My 24g Aqua Pod

+1 thats a condy. They are a bit more resilient to lower lighting conditions but they usually are not a host of clownfish, so if you were thinking of going with a clown/nem pair, you will be disspointed. Good Luck Jess

    mushroom threw up!!

thats not waste its mesentarial filaments aka 'guts' alot of shrooms expell their guts when irritated. and anemones throw up their guts when they are dying similarly.. but on a larger scale. Some shrooms are more prissy than others. I have one species that looks like its dying if you just...

    Stupid Shrimp!

if you have a overflow/prefilter you need to cover the little slots with some screening or something to prevent critters from accidentally getting in there. This will happen with fish and inverts. Best to take care of it now! Jess

    Help with my tank.

get a test kit from your local fish store or order one online. get a saltwater book (like saltwater aquariums for dummies) that will serve as a reference on all the basic info you need to know. Hurry up and wait. Add live rock as much as you want, but NOTHING else until youve waited a few...

    Zoa colony not attaching...

make sure to wash your hands well after handling the zoos. I would keep a paper towel handy. Dry the area on the rock and the bottom of the mat of the zoos just before glueing. (dont rub hard, just pat it dry). Use super glue gel or loctite glue (my favorite) Have fun Jess

    New corals

those are softies and they will generally be more forgiving to your lights. Im not sure what kind of lights you have but just watch the coral and if it seems unhappy, move it. The frags you are talking about I think I know where you got them and I believe they are aquacultured so you should...

    Flow Rate for nano?

I have a ap24 and all I have is a quiet one 1200 in the back attached to a spray bar and a Koralia nano in the display. I had two koralia nanos in the display but my mushrooms were getting a tiny bit too much flow. heres a crude top down sketch of how mine is setup and I take the worst FTS...

Best way to thin out xenia?

start at one edge and use some sort of tool (I use something like whats pictured below) to lift the mat off the rock. Once you get it started its usually pretty easy to peel it up. Take a clean razor and cut the mat where you want to stop peeling it. Superglue it to a small rock and take it to...

Michael...Flricordia, after seeing yours I got one for my tank, thanks!

I hope it does well, it looks really healthy! Keep an eye on it with the lighting. What lighting do you have? My yumas always preferred a little lower lighting, and less flow. Is it already mounted on something? make sure that baby doesnt blow away (happened to me toooo many times lol) Jess
