I would most definitally get MH and VHO together, and i'd go with the 20 gal long, and plumb a rubbermade container to it, it'll give you more volume, if you think about it, well at least i'm thinkin' a 33 gal trash can..

i donno i wanted that extra volume, how the sump would be is on of the overflows goes rightinto the sump section, and the other goes into the fuge which flows into the sump. There're 2 1 1/2 inch holes, what size pump will handle return on that?

Actually i was thinking that because the 2 overflow holes are 1 1/2 inches, so i don't think a mag 12 would be enough to make it work, would it? and thanks for hte info. and i was thinkin of putting the terbelles on each side of the tank and then the return facing the front glass and then down...
