    SPS Success With Just T5s

definitely doable. I prefer the look of MH, but sometimes I do get jealous of the ability T5 users have in having a variety of bulbs to get the colors to look great. Sometimes its too washed or pastel looking, but sometimes the colors are just amazing.

    sps color morphing

the changing colors could actually be a very good sign that your water quality is better than the water it came from. Color changes can take several months to actually occur. Also, whether its your change of bulbs or not, the same coral can look completely different in two different tanks...

Making the jump to SPS, any tips for my system?

people do acclimate with drip acclimates, but many people actually do various dips. iodine dips, interceptor dips, revive dip, there are so many. I have never dipped any corals and rarely acclimate - temp only. Ive been lucky in not getting pests by not dipping. But the theory on acclimating...

agree with everyone else here. Also, if you have detritis buildup, you may not have enough flow, or at least, dead spots

Would like to try some SPS

salifert makes pretty good test kits also. And if you can find Elos those are the new popular ones that everyone likes. But i havent tested for nitrate in over a year. I can tell if I have any nutrients based on how my tank is doing. I did use a phosphate reactor to reduce my phosphate...

do you have pics of the frags? also, whats your alkalinity at? If that is low, that could be the cause. Low alk doesnt affect LPS like it does SPS. Also, you may need to get the flow up some, but lets see what it killing the frags before looking at increasing the flow.

the korlias are good, but check out the sure flow maxijet 1200 mods and get the magnets, both made by algae free. you'll have to google them because we cant post links to other sites. cant go wrong with either the koralia or MJ mods. definitely flow is important.

sounds like you have a good system although the nitrates need to come down some and maybe the pH just a tad too. Im not familiar with the Toms filter system. I believe that the all in one systems usually are not as efficient as doing it all in separate components but Im sure it does a fine job...

    Reviving my 125g.

Welcome!! I dont see a question, and it sounds like you have a great setup, what is there to revive? lol Highly recommend a fuge if thats what you are looking for advice on. Use the search function on this website (look near top) and type in refugium and you should find lots of info. Also, I...

    Snake's 240gallon Tank Build!

Sounds like a great tank and great build. Couple quick thoughts... First, Id ditch the caluerpa in the fuge altogether. The threat of it going sexual is too much to risk. Also, it can get into the display and start growing in the LR and other places which you just wouldnt want and wont happen...

Tank died restoring it too health

I dont think there's a "need" to seed with new LR, unless you just want to buy it. Im sure there's still enough good bacteria in the tank to keep the nitrogen cycle moving. What are the parameters testing at? Amm, -trite and -trate?

Hey there and thanks for asking, this is a good place to ask questions. Im not familiar with any guides really. To get an idea if your tank and system is ready for sps, we need to know more about the tank itself. How old is the tank? How much live rock and live sand? What are you tank's water...
