can we PLEASE put something in the informational threads about mandarins. it seems way too many people want to put mandarins in like 5 gal tanks and they say how great their pod population is. Is there some way we can put an end to the endless " do you think i can get a mandarin in a 10 gal"...

i see you have a carpet anemonie, do you spot feed it? I try to spot feed mine one or two live goldfish every week or so.

not really a thing, they were the coral that caught my eye that day, plus one was a carpet anemonie and one was a meat coral.

rock the berlin method a ton of live rock a decent sandbed and a huge skimmer

I also keep my reef at 80 to 81. you might want to see if you are getting fluctuation. if you are going from the low to mid 70's and then up to 80 in a short period of time that might cause the coral to be pissed. do you have the tank near an air conditioner and does it have a daytime cycle...

oh dude you are going to get flamed on this one mandarins are a touchy subject. you want to have 1 mandarin per like 120 pounds of MATURE rockwork. better that you are asking and didnt just go out and buy one. but NO you shouldent have (2) mandarins in a 55 unless you want to dose with...

I was having the same problem, then I used a diffrent test kit (more accurate) and i found the test strips were way off. they always seem more sensative than the actuial result. double check with another test kit.
