Definately a mushroom here is a picture from last month

This is a shot of a Green fuzzy Mushroom that was about six inches in diameter earlier this afternoon. The only thing different that I did was add plankton to the water. Kind of stringy white substance coming out. Reproduction or becoming food for something?

With a digital camera what are the best settings to take pictures of an aquarium?

Too much? How much did you put in? I usually just tear off a small portion and put it in my aquarium. It sounds like you may have used an entire sheet.

Hmmm....maybe it is white coraline algae didn't know there was such a thing! But here is a picture of what it resembles. Pretty much looks the same. Picture is from SWF.

What's the deal with white algae? Anyone familiar with this. I did see a picture of it here on SWF, uder the helpful ID list in the forums, but there was no info just a picture. Is this stuff good / bad?

After briefly researching maybe black sponge. I did find a picture of something called black bermuda sponge? I also found a picture of something that look similar but was green in color and it was sponge.

Growing on the back side of my star polyps....been there about two weeks. Looks like some type of cocoon or sack. It is kind of soft, but durable. Its the black substance if you can call it that. Looks as though it may have poures. Any clues.

Anyone have any interesting live rocks. I have a particular rock that is probably about 6 or 7 pounds. It has four zoa colonies growing on it. Green, red, one green blue and one redish orange. Dozens of feather dusters, Vermetid snails a few big ones at that. Yellow and pink sponges, purple...

I posted a pic of this several months ago..maybe it has grown enough for someone to id now! Looks like small fillers. Keeps growing but they are small. They come out more during feeding (Plankton).

Okay I'm getting mixed info...do they eat fish and corals or don't they eat fish and corals. I have one in my QT tank and I really want to put it in my dt. But I don't want it to eat my fish or coral. What the general consensus?
