how do eels like there rock stacked

If you leave some sand under the LR the eel will burrow down to the glass. This could topple some of your rockwork. The peices that I laid down had an opening, and the eel is able to get underneath the LR. He dug all the sand out, and made a little home under the LR.

    Restocking my 240 FOWLR

I'm thinking of getting rid of a couple of my fish from my 240, and adding a couple of new fish. The tank has been running for almost 2 years now. It has 300+ lbs of LR, and about 200 lbs of LS. Currently I have: 1 SFE 1 Whitecheek Tang 1 Lunare Wrasse 1 Fiji Damsel 1 Huma Trigger 2 Porc Puffers...

how do eels like there rock stacked

Out of the 3 eels that I've had, none of them really toppled much of the LR over. I laid a pretty good base with large peices. To big for them to move. Then I stacked some smaller peices on top. Just make sure the rockwork is sturdy. Goldentails don't get real big, so I don't think they'll be...

how do eels like there rock stacked

I've never kept a goldentail, but I doubt if they would bite. I have a moonlight on my 240, and it doesn't seem to bother my puffers, or my SFE.

Powerhead with skimmer - use air tube?

Did the maxijet come with the skimmer? If not I would check with the skimmer manufacturer to find out what pump they recommend. A skimmer does need air to work properly.

    eel help

As far as getting bitten, it depends on the particular eel. My SFE, and old ghost ribbon never tried to bite. I did have a jeweled moray that would bite anything it could get a hold of. Never kept an anemone with an eel before, and can't recall anyone else doing it. I would think the problem...

how do eels like there rock stacked

If you make a rock pile, the eel will more than likely find all the nooks and crannys to go in and out of. As long as their is enouh space for him to be completely covered he should be happy.

Powerhead with skimmer - use air tube?

I know that on the sea clone skimmers that they use the maxijet powerhead. I would think that if the pump came with the skimmer then there is something not setup/working properly. So you are saying that the water is shooting out of the airline tubing? On my old sea clone, if I remeber correctly...

Powerhead with skimmer - use air tube?

If I'm understanding the question properly, I would say yes you need the air tube. The way the skimmer works is by chooting air bubles into the water column, as the air bubles travel to the top they collect organic materials, the air bubbles should go into a collection cup, where they deposit...

    Chromis Schooling.

I myself had a problem with trying to mix the yellows with the blue green chromis. The yellows became aggressive towards the blue greens. Don't know if this was unusual, just what happened in my tank.

    Oil for food?

I'm amazed that there havn't been more replies. We've known since before the war about the oil for food program. It got very little media coverage as we accussed france, russia, and germany about their interests. Only difference is they where accusations then, and now we have a little more...

What to add with Snowflake eel?

The problem with adding a porc would be the tank size. Porcs get big, and would need a much bigger tank as they grow. A small one would be fine for a little while. As far as other tank mates you could look into dwarf lions, hawk fish, and smaller wrasse species.

How many people have lame co-workers?

I used to work with a bunch of idiots. The way that I resolved the problem. I quit, and went to work for myself. Now I'm the boss, and everyone that works for me gets along pretty well. Everyone can choose their own path, and they can choose the environment that they work in. I still have to...

    Question for the tang police

Not sure if the combo would work. You can never tell with tangs. I would guess that eventually the purple and PB would fight. As far as the order to add them I would say the clown tang 1st, and than the other 3 at the same time. Clowns are not really all that hardy so I would let him settle in 1st.

This is likely to be from stress. How big is the tang, how long have you had him, and what is the tank setup?

    computer help

Most of my customers that use virtual pc complain about speed issues. They say it seems to really slow things down. For my customers that need to run pc apps, I setup a Windows Terminal server, and load the mac RDP client. So far they have all been happy with that. Edited for spelling.

    should I or shouldn't I

I think that my bigger tanks are easier to maintain than the smaller ones that I had before. In a small tank you have to be very carefull about keeping the water params in check. A small change in a small tank can become a problem real fast. A small change in a large tank wont be as bad. The...

    tang vs angel or both?

I would add the flame angel 1st. I have a flame, and yellow tang in my 240 together. So far they get along, but they've only been together for a few weeks now. They seem to be prone to ich as are the tangs. Other than that as long as fed a good diet they should do well. I've had my flame for...

    all trigger tank

A 125 is kinda small to add more than a couple of triggers. It would work short term, if they where all on the small side. For the long run you would need a very big tank to keep what you listed. Most triggers get more aggressive as they put on some size. The titan itself gets very large. I've...
