I bought a nice chubby true Percula last friday nite and it hasn't eaten yet. It was still very active and I thought it would come around. Today it hangs out in the same area and swims up and down. Hes also a little thinner.I also noticed a greyish bump near his gill. I acclimated him correctly...
Additives, water changes(sometimes if salinity is a little off), or adding frozen food makes mine spit bubbles but they eventually stop.If you are using Stress Coat, switch to Prime.
I got a rectangular one that's about 7 inches across. I'm gonna temporarily silicone 2 suction cups on it so I can keep it near the top. Hope it works.
I have one and mine has been very active since day one. Mine tends to swim on his own and doesnt really socialize with the others. (Warning: Mine ate all of my mini stars)

Your idea's brilliant!!! Why didn't I think of that? Ive been running some ideas in my head on how to catch the damsel thats bugging my two clowns. I was thinking of using the clowns as bait though. How big was the critter cage? I have a small one I got at the dollar store...
Now I'm no "rocket surgeon" or "brain scientist" :hilarious so bear with me.Why do you have to replace the whole power filter impeller when the rubber ends wear out? Wouldn't it be easier and cheaper to replace the endcaps? Do they even sell them by themselves? :notsure:
So I guess the light humming sound is normal. It really doesnt bother me now compared to the clacking sound mine made before. I also run an aquaclear 300 that hums as well. I can live with it.Thanks for the replies.
I run a used Emperor 400 on my tank. It used to make a slight clicking noise since day one. Ive replaced the impellar, flow box and the intake tube. I now have a very light buzzing sound. Is this its normal operating sound or is it supposed to be completely silent? Thanks in advance for any info.
I have an Emperor 400 with 2 bios on it and I never did anything to them. I think you're more likely to have nitrate problems with the crush coral. I also think that rinsing it under warm water would kill off any beneficial bacteria. If the bio wheels get dirty, you can "swish"them around in the...

I had a big, female Red Devil who would bite the glass if you touch it with you finger. You could actually hear the teeth hit the glass. I hated having to rearrange the tank when cleaning it. Anyone with large cichilds knows what messes the make. I had to keep an eye on her on one side while...
Why not just keep the lids off? How bad is the evaporation? I got through about a gallon every 3 or so days. I just add a little a day so I wont change the salinity too much too fast.
The screws go in the tank so you cant use your tops. The screws sit on the water line in my 55.The screws are alot longer than in the pic too.If you want to take the light off it'll take a little time to unscrew them. You can flip the lights up and keep them that way while you work in the tank.I...
How often should I target feed my polyps for fast noticible growth?(yellow, browns, plate) I really want my yellows to take off.Ive had them for awhile and the dont multiply. I started using coralife target food and frozen brine so far. Thanx
I got mine a few weeks ago. Theyre alot better than the cheap thin ones. The bad thing is theyre a pain in the butt if you do have to take the lights of the tank.
