    Help with Green Bubble Tip

yup nothing wrong with it, my Rose has recently stopped this habit.. but it seems to be getting ready for a split and instead of having its foot wedged under the rock and rising out during the day it has it planted firmly on two rocks and seems to be getting fatter at the base *shrug*. Count...

Reef Lobster and Pistol Shrimp came as hitchhikers ... now what?

wow, nice hitchikers, I payed dearly for my pistol (the first one the LFS gave me didn't survive -.- lucky they made it up to me! I was a neby and took one that had been in a fight and lost a limb on the base that it would regrow it). Anyhow, enjoy your pistol.. mine has been in my tank about a...

    Need a starfish id...

They are too small to get a picture of, but I think I can get a good enough description for you guys to poke a hand at... The two right now were originally one, so reproduction by splitting in the middle (each peice currently has 3 "legs"). Total of 6 legs when healed, blue/gray in color, and...

haha, reminds me of the day I got my RBTA. Congrats on the great purchase! Did my Anemone Just eat a Hermit??

could just be because I havent seen a green in person before.. just the standard and rose. My rose has a very cool green tentacle base under the actinics though, that with the orange tips and oral disk is very awesome to look at IMO.

Did my Anemone Just eat a Hermit??

the rose is an absolute beauty under actinics! Look up a little on each too, seems each color species has its little quirks. I don't recall each one, but there was a post on here recently that i remember mentioning them.

    A few things I need ID'ed..

Yes that is exactly what #5 looks like. As for the two #4's.. I have been feeding one of them becasue I thought it was quite a pretty coral. Should I be seaking a way to remove these two? The tank houses two small true percs that are only about 2"-2.5" in size currently..

    A few things I need ID'ed..

Thanks cranberry. I dont think number 4 is a mushroom though. It actually has a lot of small tentacles with little white balls on them. Do some mushrooms have tentacles? I'll try to get a better picture of it..

    General RBTA question

Thank you. This one is a tank raised split from the LFS. They have a guy that brings them a split from the few he has in his tank every few months. This one had been in the fish shop for about a month before I picked it up, and it was hanging on for dear life to a skimmer output... they cut a...

    A few things I need ID'ed..

I love that brain coral.. its been in the tank since day 3!! It was on the first peice of LR I added and I didn't know it till a month later. It was less than 1/4 its current size :) The short blue/green tentacles it puts out at night look cool too! whatever species it is, I would recommend to...

    General RBTA question

My RBTA has two true percs hosting it, and it is about 5-6" across on an average day. Currently I've been feeding mysis shrimp once or twice a week (depending on how much it will eat at a given time). With two clowns hosting should it be that often? And how can you tell when one is getting ready...

Finally showing off my setup :)

29 gallon tank excuse the bubbles, the coral life skimmer was in overdrive mode.. seems to do that after I have to stick my hand in to upright a snail. =/ Meet Bonnie(RBTA), Oscar(True perc), and Ophelia(Misbar true perc) Can't forget Fred(Flame Angel)!! older pic Also have a yellow watchman...

    A few things I need ID'ed..

these are a few random things I have found on my LR that I can't ID.. Still fairly new to the hobby as far as things I haven't researched lol. #1/2 The red stuff(1) at the back of the rock. I'm sure is a macro-algae just curious what kind. Also the brain coral(2) on front I have up till now...

    New Clown and anemone

If your clown has picked a spot in the tank it has claimed, if the anemone is on a rock move that rock to the spot the clown has claimed and leave it there for a few days. The anemone will likely move again at that point, but the clwon will find it again quickly if it picked it up and accepted...

    Nova Extreme SLR T5 Fixtures

yes, the 30" fixture uses the same bulbs as the 24". So You're also saying I should ditch their bulbs that come in the lights? any recommendations on replacement bulbs for whichever I get? Either way its 22" lamps 24 watts each. The way this sounds I should just get two of the dual bulb 24"...

    Moving an anemone

I actually had VERY good luck in moving my anemone. I was very careful (It was on the glass in the top left corner of the tank) to take the time to Coax it to let go and not force it at all. The whole process took somewhere around 30 minutes. Basically just took my finger (in a plastic bag) and...
