why fast growing? why don't you focus on something that will have a higher demand?

Yeah, there arent a whole lot of options for a 10G. I have a 10 up right now, and I've been searching for my light selection, I'm either going to go with a coralife fixture or a MH HQI pendant. I may make a hood and DYI myself, but I'm not real sure yet.

pictures? I don't think you'd be seeing coralline this close to the beginning, even if your LR already had some on it, it wouldn't spread that fast in a tank that new. Does it look like a chalky coating on the rock? hairy? slimy? put ur hand on it, what does it feel like? if it just feels like...

IMHO I would take the UV sterilizer off. I mean its not bad, but you'll have better luck with you coral without it.

Isopods, I don't think Copepods are usually seen on the glass anyway. At night, shine a flashlight in your tank at the sandbed and rocks, you should see an amazingly large number of Copepods there, they'll be a little bigger than the others.

I didn't get to see the picture from my computer at work. Those look from here more like Isopods. Equally good, but different species. Do they look like little ants or more like a rolly polly?

that scape looks pretty good, you gonna keep goin on the LR?

I would get about 6 mexican turbo snails, 5 hermits, and probably a second PH the same size as the one you have in there already.

yeah, its just like any other tank, glass bottom. They just put the UG filter in it because they think someone actually wants it.

OK, 24 gallon tank, you need an average of 15X the turnover, meaning that, a power head that is rated at 240GPH would be 10X the turnover. If you can get your water flow around there then you should be better than you were, you may already be there with your PH and mechanical filter. But...

OH, while you're buying the test kit, it wouldn't hurt you to buy a small powerhead. How big is this tank?

if you're going to mix your SW in the tank this time, then I would add the sand LATER so you don't have to worry about undissolved salt settling into the sand bed and giving you a little bit of an SG headache for the next couple of days or a week.
