    garlic

Just the juices from garlic cloves is what you're wanting to use if I can remember right. Way easier to just buy Garlic Extreme or something to that effect.

Please help!!!!!! do i need a skimmer

I was just looking for a skimmer for my 10G. I WAS looking into the Fission, but SCSI talked me out of it in one sentence. I need a smaller one (u know...because its a 10 Gallon), but I need the quietest one I can find. My 10 Gallon is set up in an office I share with a couple of others and I...

    10g Tanks

You can get 100% bio-filtration from live rock alone, and you don't need LR to cycle a tank. However, thats why i said "in my honest opinion". I will never, and have never had a bio-wheel and have never had a problem. However, I have seen multiple posts pointing more towards the negatives of...

    10g Tanks

I have a question for YOU though. If you decide to go with a different light setup for an anemone or corals, have you done any reserch as to what you would go with or where to get it from?

    10g Tanks

The only thing I NORMALLY test for when mixing is my SG. Every now and then I'll test for PO4 just to be anal about it. This is just how I do it, but someone else may have another method. I just make sure my SG and temp is good and SLOWLY pour or pump my fresh mix (heated) to the tank. As...

Sorry, I didn't mean to make it sound like I thought you were stupid, that's just something that caught my attention. Good luck with your tank.

    I'm Back!!!!

I control the thermostat in my office, lol. I'm the youngest one there, but they're afraid of me, HA!!! But seriously, I keep it between 71 and 74 year round, so I don't think I'm gonna have much of a temp issue there, and I don't have as bad of a heat problem as you do down there, lol.

    10g Tanks

First, earlier you stated that you were going to stay with the NO lighting that came with the tank. I doubt there have been any break-throughs in the year I haven't been on this board, but it used to be that NO lighting was not enough for an anemone to survive. As far as the two different...

    10g Tanks

I have about 2 inches of sugar sand in the bottom with about 15 lbs of rock. I wouldn't think you would need to have the HOB, but it never hurts to have extra circulation. Ive been out of the hobby just long enough to forget the rule of thumb for sand. Good luck.

    I'm Back!!!!

Hey, anyone remember me? I lost all of my tanks due to a power outage when i was out of town about a year ago, and I finally got back on the horse. Well, somewhat, I have a 10 gallon Nano setup on my desk here at work and that's gonna get me goin again. I MISSED THIS HABIT!!! lol. Any of my...

    10g Tanks

I bought the 10 gallon package that wal mart has when I started 3 years ago. I have it sitting on my desk cylcling right now in fact. When I first set it up I was using the HOB filter that came with it, just for extra circulation. Now I'm planning on using a powerhead and live rock, that's...

    cloudy water

It'll go away, you might try running some AC, it'll help out. EDIT: You're in the middle of a cycle, I wouldn't run carbon at all, it's going to take a while, but your water will clear up on its own provided you have the right flow and filtration.

    Need help starting reef tank

Not that reefnut needs my second opinion , but I agree with the Choc star going away if you're going reef. I wouldn't worry too much about the seahorses dying, if I remember right a year in captivity is a little over the normal lifespan for them anyway, I could be wrong.

    Skimmer help needed

hmm......... I guess I was tired last night, I didn't think of that. What you could do is "Y" off to the skimmer and the "Y" it back in to the line.

    pods....

It really all depends on the water quality....heck on a bunch of different things. When i was just starting my tank, I was about three months in and it seemed like overnight and I was crawling with them. Then about a month ago I only counted a couple. If you stay on top of your water changes...
