    ich

The thing about ich is... It's not always visible when you purchase the fish. But best of luck to ya! (I set up my QT fairly cheap... it's a pain setting it up, but in the long run IMO its worth it) Good Luck! *JD

    ich

Can ich survive without fish... no... but that doens't mean you have to ditch your tomato. Hypo is not an option for you because you have inverts. Do you have a QT (quaranteine tank)? If you have another tank you could put your tomato in there for about 5 weeks and lower the salt level to 14...

    ich

How many fish are in the tank? Is it just the tomato? Any Live Rock? If it is just your clown and no inverts you can do a hypo salinity in your tank for about a month. This will take care of it.

    30 days after Hypo

If I have not seen my ich in 30 days since my hypo is it safe to say they are dead? It has not been 6 weeks yet like I had planned on waiting, but I have not seen any ich in 30 days. It was my understanding that 30 days without a fish to live on kills the ich. I guess i'm asking if its safe to...

    Hyposalinity

That may very well be true. I put the sand in before I lowered the salinity. I'm not even sure if the bacteria will survive the low salinity levels at all. You would have to ask someone smarter than me  Good question though - JD

    Water movement

you want to shoot for 20 times your tank per hour ( 10 gal tank X 20 = 200gph). That is a good estimate, but it all depends on what you are keeping.

    Friday sixpack

800 X 600 is ideal IMO. Gives most clearity on one page... almost regaurdless of the resolution they are running at. I run at 1280 X 1024. computer just looks cleaner that way.

How much $$ have you dished out? (so far)

about 2 months, and nearing 2,000. Thats HUGE for a poor college student taking microsoft certification tests all summer long. Those tests are costing me crazy amounts of money.

    nast live rock

I use my power head to blow stuff of my rock. Works gread for spot cleaning, and does a better job then the turkey baster. I have a 55 gallon tank with about 60 - 65 pounds of LR and I couldn't even imagine cleaning it all every week. I'm hardly home enough to enjoy my tank, let alone empty the...

    tank wont clear.....

Carbon will help alot. A lot of filters have carbon in them. Water change will also help. Definatly look into the carbon. My water was crystal clear even during the cycle. Good Luck -JD

    are flame angels...

It is my understanding that they are reef safe. They are not very difficult to care for if your tank is stable. If you have an established tank you will do fine. Good Luck!
