Thanks for all the responses. i really like the scallop shell idea. I'll check out where it's attached and see if i can chip rock, that would be my first inclination and then maybe cut the strings if it looks like I can do it without damaging anything. Thanks again, as usual, the best people...

I came home from the horse show today and wanted to move my new crocea up a little higher in the tank, felt it was acclimated pretty well now. But it has attached itself to the rock its next to in the substrate. I don't want to harm it. How do I get it to disattach safely?

I only turn off sump and protein skimmer when feeding the filter feeders DT's etc.

They were kept under stronger lighting, but this is what the guy I got them from said to do anyhow. Being shipped was probably plenty stressful and a new home stressful again, I believe a quiet spot for a little while is the idea. But, holy cow, the crocea is tremendous. it's about 3.5 to 4...

Sorry, for mislabeling, you are correct. I have them protected from the light a little until they get adjusted to my tank, then I will move them up in the rock work a little bit.

I think Sammy may be speaking about me. I had a basket star. Kept it for about 11 months. It was a wonderful creature............................if you like watching it in the middle of the night with a flashlight, and staying up WAYYYYY past your bedtime so you could feed it when it did come...
