Hey, I know it will seed the dead rock after a few weeks of curing but try to make sure your not getting to many detrimental hitchickers. Just put it in your curing tank with a powerhead, heater and if you have an extra skimmer do that too. Good luck.

Well the sump/fug was made for me by this guy Aquatic Design Habitats. If it were full would be around 45g. It's split in three, bio media-15g fug-sump with protein skimmer. One overflow flows into the fug the other into the bio media. Fug overflows and has drain to sump. Sump measurements...

After some troubles and some work here are some pics of my new tank. Just put a small clean up crew in. 120g with 105# LR. 2x250 10k MH with 4x64w PC's. 30 g sump/refug. Tell me what you think or hints on what I can do to make it nicer.

What is safe to clean the outside of your glass with? Can you use windex if you do not spray it in the same room? What else can you do? Thanks

Eve, I have read both and found them to be very similar. The New Marine Aquarium is very straight forward without a lot of wordy language. The Conscientious Marine Aquarist is very good as well a bit more informative and more info on fishes and corals and such. Read them both! Good luck

Masala, the similarities of our set ups are freakish! My canopy has an open back as well, I have 2 4" fans on the way, I run a Dart pump to my 25g sump/refug pumping at about 2400gph! I have great water movement. Mine is also in the basement recroom and the temp almost never gets above 68*...
